Transfer Student

Hi all,

I’m going to be a rising junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. There have been a few things that happened recently that made me consider looking to transfer to other schools, preferably ones that rank better than the program I’m in now. I have selected a group of schools that I am interested in, but am open to any suggestions that you guy may have based on my credentials.

Everything looks great, besides your college GPA. Most of the schools on your school list look for students with a 3.7+ college GPA. Some of them even require that you have a 3.5+ college GPA in order to even be considered. I recommend that you seriously look over your options again. Sorry, but many of those schools are simply out of your reach with your current college GPA.

High school stats are considerably less important than your college stats. While, colleges LOVE to see upward GPA trend (low secondary school GPA ==> high college GPA), downward GPA trend is not a good thing to have.

I recommend you apply BROADLY, and make sure to look for colleges’ average college GPA for incoming transfers.

@TransferStalker certainly I would call my list of schools ambitious. What do you think about my chances at Washington in particular? That is the school I’d like to go to most out of that list. Thanks
