I'm a sophomore and I am looking to transfer into a new program. I attended a non audition straight theatre program in texas my freshman year. I was not being challenged and I really missed doing MT, so this fall i withdrew and I have been at Community college. I'm trying to find a program, but I have no clue where to begin. Even though I did this when I was a senior, It's different now that I'm a transfer and I am completely lost. If anyone could maybe point me in a direction it would be much appreciated. If this helps I've been taking voice lessons since I was fourteen (but I stopped my freshman year because I was in a straight theatre program, but i've recently begun taking lessons again.) I've had a few years of tap and jazz. I got into the OCU MT program my senior year. I dont know if this makes a difference but I'm an African American female. So if somebody could get back to me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

There are many programs that will accept transfers. Do you have a particular geographic area to which you want to limit yourself? Because of the number of schools out there, that may assist posters in responding more specifically. In addition, are you looking for an audition based program or another non-audition program that just has better MT opportunities? Why not take a look at the schools that were on your list when you applied to college originally? If there were good MT programs on your list then that made sense to you, they could be worth looking at again now.
