Transfer Students and Housing?

I technically haven't been accepted but I'm pretty confident I'll be accepted to either my first or second choice major by the end of the semester. So transfer students, where are you guys planning on living when you transfer to UT in the fall? I've heard that transfer students get screwed over when it comes to living in an on-campus dorm because freshmen are given priority for the dorms, so I didn't bother applying for a housing contract.

I'm considering just staying in Dobie, since everyone I know that's already at UT has already made plans to room with other people, so I'm kind of stuck doing that and hoping I get a normal roommate :P. What are the rest of you planning on doing?

I’m pretty iffy but currently just leaning towards getting an apartment somewhere with a random roommate. The few places that do roommate matching in apartments are pretty overpriced, even for West Campus living.

I plan on living in a co-op. I applied already and I am on the waitlist. If that doesn’t work out I’ll most likely stay with my cousin in Manor.

I’m going into whatever dorm has some space. I don’t feel confident that there’ll will a lot of rooms by the time I get accepted (if I do, it’ll be in late May), not to mention friends are gonna be rooming. :frowning: I’m doing what you’re doing and hoping for the best lol
