Transfer student's dorm

Hey guys,

I’m an incoming transfer student and have some questions about where to live next year. I heard that we should avoid LXR as the facilities there are the worst. Could you recommend some nice dorm to live? I’m interested in getting a single room. Which building is the newest on campus?

Thank you so much!

Generally as a transfer, you don’t get a great deal of choice in your housing arrangement. From what I can tell, most transfers are in Village C East or placed randomly elsewhere, although I may be wrong. Assuming your building comment is about dorms, the newest ones on campus are in the Southwest Quad

Hey Hotair,

Thank you so much for the reply. I emailed the housing staff and she said I could put in the comment where I want to live. Are you a transfer? Where do you recommend to live?

Personally I liked living in VCE last year. Rooms are serviceable (and private bathrooms), gigantic common rooms, and incredibly central location. Dining hall is like a 45 second walk.

LXR on the other hand is off campus, through Walsh… it’s just all bad.

Well if you can request a place, trying to see if there are open spots in apartments like Village A and B wouldnt be bad. I seriously doubt anywhere in Copley is open, but it has the best location on campus. For places that are more reasonable, southwest quad is probably the best, with a good location and pretty big rooms.

Ok to set things straight a bit lxr is not a bad dorm. My room was huge common rooms was fine and we had rooftop which was dope. Location was also fine too it’s next to Walsh which I had class in and close to lau and dining hall like 5-7min walk away. Maybe not best for transfers since you won’t really know anybody and will be two blocks outside main gate but for me I have lots of friends and people living nearby which so i didn’t mind at all. Maybe if your new you might want to be on campus but lxr close to m street, which bars and restaurants like 2min walk
