Hi there,
So I'm currently at a junior college in northern california and I'm really hoping to transfer to Berkeley. I'm an anthropology major but recently I've decided to double major in Development studies (International relations for Davis as my backup). I will be able to get all the lower division class requirements for both majors while at the junior college and complete my IGETC. But Im curious about the application process. Would I put on my application that I'm a double major or should I just put one or the other- just cus i know Anthro majors transferring to Berkeley have an easier time getting in than say an econ or bio major would. They are both in the College of Letters and Sciences so I'm not worried about being able to double major once/if i get in, I just want to know whats going to give me the best chances of getting accepted

You would apply with one major like usual then once you get to where you end up you go about the process of a double major. There are a few guidelines that you have to be sure you can follow. And also as you can stick in the guidelines and have all the prereqs done it’s as easy as filling out the proper paperwork.

okay thats what I figured. At this point i think I’m just wondering which major is easier to get in with. I know the International development studies major at UCLA is very competitive, and just from my knowledge of Berkeleys Development studies major i know its a small major so there is not much information from people on it. I know anthropology is a relatively ‘easy’ major to transfer into for berkeley as compared to business or econ or something like that, but i think I’m far more passionate about DS
