I have a couple of questions regarding transferring into CCM’s program.

-Are transfer students considered alongside of the freshman candidates or are they in a separate category?
-Does the school have to take a specific number of transfer students?
-What do they expect of their transfer applicants?
-Are they notified of their acceptance/rejection later than other applicants?

Thank you!

-Transfer students are considered alongside the freshmen students, yes.
-The school does not have to take a specific number of transfer students. In fact, I don't believe they've taken many within the past few years. Don't let that scare you though, everyone has the same chance of getting accepted.
-They expect the same that they would from a student auditioning for college for the first time. Be prepared, know your material and yourself, and be confident. However, it would not be a good idea to remind them at your audition that you are a transfer student. Put it on your resume that you've studied somewhere else before, and if they feel it necessary, they will ask you about it at your audition or later on in the selection process.
-You are notified the same as the other applicants. Sometimes they will send acceptance letters right away, sometimes it may take a while. The audition process is difficult for them as well. They see a lot of potential students, and it is really difficult to pick a solid group of 20 students out of 700 auditioners.

To sum it all up, transfer students should enter the audition expecting the same treatment as first time auditionters.

The only difference is that they may ask you more questions, such as why you are leaving your other school, why CCM, etc.

In my freshmen class this year there is one tranfer student. I do not know the details of his re-audition experience. I do know that even though you've been through one full year of college, you will still enter the program as a freshmen, if you are accepted.

I hope I've answered everything, and I hope it was understandable.

Break a leg with your audition! And remember--Just have fun!

Thank you so much for your response! It's helped a lot :]
