When do you think we should expect a decision? I know the application for Transfer students isn't due until April 1st.

They will let us know before May 1st, correct? Because that's the date that most schools require a decision. And NYU is my decision maker school.

Hi!
Did anyone receive a status of their application letter? or any communication from them to let you know if any part of your application is missing?
Thanks!

nope i didn’t receive anything and I applied last month Feb. 12. My guess is that, if anything is missing, they’ll contact you later this month. Did you call them? I’ll probably do that.

I sent in my application around Feb 20th. I contacted them but they said they send out letters with “whats missing” info, this is the reason why i was asking if anyone has received one of those.

I sent in my application mid-january for the accelerated nursing program (had to apply as a transfer student). I don’t know if the admissions process is any different from that program as opposed to applying to the school as a regular transfer student. at any rate, i didn’t receive any correspondence from NYU aside from the emails about my application being received.

“I contacted them but they said they send out letters with “whats missing” info”

I hate it when they say that. Just tell them that you did not receive anything (there might have been a mix up with mail) and would like to know right away to avoid last minute stress. They could defintely transfer you to someone who could give you the information. Last month, I called to ask them whether or not my info is missing and I was transferred to someone who would be able to help me. She told me that I could call back in early-mid March and she could give me the information then. I’m actually going to call them tommorrow.

I applied to Tisch as a transfer student last October. I didn’t receive anything from them about missing materials. But, I asked them about my status, if it was completed on the forums of admission website last Jan. and they sent me an email back saying my status is complete and right now they’re waiting for the result for my portfolio from Tisch.

well…not necessary. the first time I asked them on the forums, they told me that the decisions for transfer students will come out in early to mid-may. but the second time i asked, they sent me email back says that the notifications will come out sometime in mid-april.

I def need it to come out in mid-April. Even before May (like in mid-April), is it okay if I call them to ask them about the decision? It’s because there’s something I need to sign a contract for in order to be involved in at my current school and if I do get into NYU, I will not sign that contract. It’s due in mid-April so would that be a good enough excuse to get my decision earlier?

ak1991, i think you can definitely try to call them. maybe they’ll try to work something out with you. please let me know if you get your decision. but when did you apply?

i think the decisions will be sent by mail only. it’s my guess.

i’m waiting impatiently too lol! i’m trying to keep myself extra busy so that I don’t think about it because I know I still have a bit of a wait ahead.

I think it’s really inconvenient if they start telling us in mid-May. I mean, there are so many deadlines for other things and arrangements we have to make in advance if we do get into NYU.

I applied late January, but got everything in like teacher recommendations and stuff by early February.

I’m pretty sure they start telling us in the beginning to mid-May. It is really inconvenient because I need to put deposits down for my next year here at my school right around that time.

That’s part of being a transfer applicant. You are willing to put yourself out on a limb to get there because you obviously really want to go to the school. Most schools answers between late April and mid May, some not even till July so NYU’s AO isn’t that abnormal. Last year people started receiving letters in the last week of April, but mostly early and mid May. If you got a letter from School A who’s acceptance deadline ends before you receive a letter from NYU for example, you can call School A and ask for an extension.
