The commonapp isn’t due for a while for Fall transfers but I am trying to figure out what professors from this semester to ask for a recommendation.
Some of my classes are pretty large so it’s hard getting to know professors. But I do know some of the recitation teachers pretty well. Am I allowed to ask a recitation teacher for a transfer recommendation? Or does it have to be a professor who writes the recommendation?
Bump. I’m going to be asking professors for recommendations soon in about a month and I’d also like to know how to approach them and what to exactly say. Not to mention my professors have no interest on building relationships with students.
@zaxbys Colleges specify whether they want professor. If it’s still unclear whether they specifically want a professor to write your recommendation, it wouldn’t hurt to call.
@Swahilli same here
@TransferStalker but what about recitation teachers/TA’s? They aren’t exactly professors so I am not sure if they are allowed to write a rec
It’s fine if you want to throw in a TA/recitation teacher recommendation letter as an “extra”, if allowed; however, your required recommendation letter(s) should be written by professors.
