Another rejection/acceptance today. I was rejected from Hartt but was accepted academically to University of Hartford. I feel the latter is pretty significant seeing as my last school left a big flaw on my academic record. I wrote them and my other schools, a long letter explaining the situation. It feels good to know that academically they saw potential and were willing to take a chance.

ummm so i called Syracuse today and they said transfers won't hear until May or June.

...yeah.

ignore that.

well i heard from webster and roosevelt today: two acceptances! i am so thrilled to have choices, but now i don't know where to go! good luck as everyone hears back!

Congratulations Emonade. It's great to have choices. I've sent you a P.M.

Hi!
I'm not quite sure had to add to someone else's acceptance list, but if you'd like to add a name--Singalong Mom's D was accepted into SUNY
Buffalo's Musical Theater BFA program. We just came back from visiting the campus, and it seems like a great fit.

hey thanks for adding me!!! im really excited! :)

I got a letter from USC today that said I will not find out my decision until JUNE because I'm a transfer. This confuses me; in my interview, I said I wanted to join the freshman class in order to get as much training as possible. I can't imagine any reason for me to put in the sophomore or junior BFA class (I have lots of college credit but no prior BFA training). So I don't understand why I can't find out NOW if I didn't make the freshman class of 2011! Anybody having the same dilemma?

This may be a university decision... even if the department says it is going to take four years to complete the training, the university may consider you a transfer studetn. Many universities only accept transfers if there is room in the school or class.

Unfortunately, I didn't get into any of the BFA programs I auditioned for. Looking back, I know I wasn't as prepared as I should have been. I need to get over my audition nerves and my self-doubt, cause I know that showed through a lot. Not to mention that the transfer spots at these schools weren't exactly plentiful, so I'm sure that was another factor.

I'm really excited about going to WCU though! I won't have to take out one loan and I'll be able to graduate in 3-3 1/2 years without any debt...not so with any of the other schools. Plus I have my gen eds mostly taken care of, so I can focus entirely on my music, theater and dance courses. Plus it will be nice to be sort of a representative for West Chester on this forum to anyone else considering the school. I can't thank everyone enough for offering to advice, information and support in this long process. I wasn't ready now but I feel that with a good solid education I can still pursue either grad school or one of the two year MT programs in NYC once I graduate. I'm still not giving up, I just have to take a slight detour.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear!

BreakIntoSong-
West Chester is a beautiful school! I was very impressed by the staff and the facilities. I think the location is great....close to a lot of places. I know of many kids who have gone there or are going there and they love it. We are from Berks Co also...small world! What school did you graduate from???
I wish you the very best and send you a big.....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

notfromme:

Thank you! I've never been there, but since I have to go there to meet with my advisor and register I'll get to check the place out. The PSSHE schools all seem to have nice campuses, a mix of rural and small town life for most of them. This will be my third one actually, so I'll have no problem with my transfer credits.

Haha, it is a very small world! I graduated from Holy Name High School all the way back in 2004. Hard to believe that was three years ago already!!

Hi transfers.

I too have had one heck of a year and I sympathise with any and all transfers. So far I've gotten rejected from CMU, UMich, CCM, DePaul, and Purchase. BUT the good news is I've gotten into IU's BFA (which looks AMAZING) UArts and Hartt and I still need to hear from a few other places (but I really don't care about those anymore.)

Good Luck. Transfers Rock the House.

Go transfers!

Just found out I was admitted to Hartt, came as a complete shock, I forgot all about 'em!

awkward...

Is that directed at me?
