Hello everybody I would think would be very helpful to start a thread for McGill transfers for fall 2013, I think everybody is going crazy about this wait like I am.
Here are my stats
3.9 GPA from a U.S community college and I am a sophomore.
My status on minerva says read for review.
Thank you for all future posts.
And good luck for all.

What faculty did you apply to? I’ll be a sophomore next fall and I applied to engineering from a US University. My GPA first semester was 3.84 and I’m on track for a 3.9+ this semester, also 2190 SAT.

I applied to the faculty of Arts, I want to major in Economics.
Please anyone that get accepted as a transfer for this fall share with us here in this thread.
Thanks to all!

Today my status went to further review required so they’ve started looking at transfer apps. They’re asking for my spring grades and AP scores. Anyone else hear anything?

Hey,
Do you mind of sharing your stats and background?
Thank you and good look…mine still ready for review.

I posted them above haha

Hello everybody! I’ve had “Further Review Required” for about 2 months now and today I saw that new requirements were added to the checklist. So I’m guessing they’re now reviewing transfer applications. You should be hearing back anytime!

My situation is a bit different than most of yours here, because I have already graduated from a university, but not with a degree I wanted. Anyway, I applied as a transfer student. My GPA is 3.56. I did 2 exchanges during my undergrad and now they’re asking for separate transcripts for these study abroad programs. The problem is I didn’t receive transcripts from the universities I attended abroad, because my home university only transfers the courses as a pass or fail and all this information is recorded on the transcript which I already submitted on minerva. All the courses I took abroad were my electives and I had to do an extra term when I got back in order to graduate. I don’t understand why they want separate transcripts now. Isn’t it the GPA that matters? Well, I know most of you don’t have problems like this but it feels good to share! Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Good luck to you all! :)

Hey guys,

I too am going crazy after some 4 months of waiting.
Applied for a BA but couldn’t specify my Major. My case is quite atypical given I’m an international student (France) and studied for two semesters in a Quebec university. My first semester’s GPA was not brilliant (3.1/4.3 I think), however I got a 18.3/20 on my French Baccalaureate, which amounts to a good GPA. Since I’m transferring from a Canadian university, I will have to wait some extra time, which is just so awesome.

Anyway, still on Ready for Review, waitin’ and hopin’,
Keep us posted!

Ps : BrunoBrazil, if your user name is from the graphic novel series, let me tip my hat to you. Not something I would expect to be well-known in North America.

Hey guys,

I had been “ready for review” since January but my status recently changed to “Further Review Required” and they asked for my IB scores. I sent them in on the 18th (immediately after they asked) and now I’m just waiting too.

I’m applying from an American university, have a 3.82 GPA, 5 and 6 on my two IB tests, and I’m hoping to get into Arts.

Good luck to everyone here! Hopefully we’ll all be classmates by the fall. :)

Has anyone heard back yet? Mine is still at “Further Review Required,” even with all of my documents sent in.

The deadline for non-Canadian transfer decisions is quickly approaching…

I may be wrong but if all your documents were received and processed, shouldn’t your status have changed back to “Ready for Review”? Does your Minerva indicate that your IB scores were received?

It said “IB result from student/school” and had an upload link, so I just immediately uploaded a copy to Minerva and it was received. I called McGill and they said that the status doesn’t change from “Further Review Required” until they look at it again.

May 10, still no response. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I got accepted to management today after uploading my spring transcript this morning. Still waiting on engineering.

What were your marks if I may ask for Management?

I’m currently studying engineering but my GPA for the year was 3.89.

Admitted to the faculty of engineering this morning and will be attending!

aaaaaaaagh been waiting on mechanical engineering forever now!
It especially sucks though because I can’t even guess by my GPA since my current uni gives it in percentages and apparently you can’t just divide your percentage grade by 25 to get your GPA out of 4 (I asked lol)

Does any one transfer from a Canadian University to Mcgill? My situation is 3.5 and apply for arts.

US Community College Transfer
GPA: 3.9
Applied School: Management & Arts

I took a bunch of easy classes with some intermediate level other classes. (Calc 3, IM Accounting, IM Econ) I have 3 Withdraws =(

Currently Waitlisted.

Anyone get any decisions yet?! When I called, they gave me some vague answer like “in May” and “any day now” but it’s almost June…
