Transfer Thread

I’m currently a freshman and applied for Fall 2016 admission to USF Nursing. Any transfers heard back yet?

I applied as a transfer to for Fall 2016, I haven’t heard back yet.

I applied in January, still haven’t heard anything? I’d appreciate it if other transfer applicants posted their stats, just so I can kind of gauge where I may stand.
3.62 GPA from SBCC, Communication major. White male, not applying for financial aid.
Best of luck!

I’m also a transfer and I sent them an email asking when a decision will come out. They sent me an email saying a decision was made for me on April 3rd and I should expect something in the mail soon. I’m a transfer from a small local CSU, (CSUB). I applied with my high school transcript as well as one semester of college.
High School Transcript was
Unweighted GPA: 3.50
Weighted GPA: 3.85
ACT Composite score: 25
1st semester college gpa: 3.50
Major : Business Admin Concetration in Accounting
I applied to USF and UOP ( University of the Pacific)
Already heard back from UOP Major Business Admin concentration in accounting.
Was accepted
8,000 dollar merit scholarship (annual)
8,000 dollar grant (annual)
And then like a 40k loan plan my parents will have to co sign if they want to.
Im pretty confident I’ll get into USF too, and hopefully I can get a better deal scholarship/grant wise or they match what UOP gave me.
I much rather attend USF, hopefully if all goes well I’ll be a sophomore at either UOP or USF.

Hey Guys,

I applied as a transfer for Fall 2016 on 1st March with all the required documents (USF accounting major). I received a notification yesterday from UPS saying that something has been sent to my home address from USF mail room. I contacted Mark (undergraduate admission counselor at USF), and he told me that I have been admitted and I will be able to get the letter in couple of weeks.

So guys, my suggestion would be to ask them via email
Good Luck to all…!

I got in!!

Hey Lulu234
A friend of mine emailed USF’s office of admissions regarding Nursing transfers, and was told that Nursing student will be the last to hear, which should be by late April, early May.

I got in as a transfer but I’m not sure how I’m going to pay for the tuition. Do we get to know how much aid we can get before we submit the $750 dollars to register?

Hello everyone! I applied as a transfer in February and still waiting on a decision. I had a mix up with my current institution on sending my transcripts. I also applied with my high school transcript.

I’ll give you guys some stats:
High School GPA was around: 3.4
College GPA: First Semester was a 3.0
Transferring from a small LAC in the PNW
Major: Advertising or Asian Studies (Undecided)
One of my parents and siblings also graduated from USF (Not sure if that helps)

Also I forgot to add my ACT score was a 21. Unfortunately, not the best but when I originally was applying to colleges I applied mostly to test optional institutions. I should have retaken and gotten a higher score. :expressionless:

AnamEhtsham,

Do you know the full name of the person you were in contact with?

Hi Sofiassss,

His name is Mark D Priolo. His email id is mdpriolo@usfca.edu.

Hope this helps and best of luck for all

Can anyone who’s already heard back list their stats if they feel comfortable?

Haven’t heard back yet but these are my stats:

High school GPA: 3.3
SAT: 1860
2 quarters (3rd in progress): 3.4
Major: Nursing
Transferring from Seattle University where I am already in the nursing program

@Lulu234 I would suggest you to ask the same person I mentioned in my above comment.

@AnamEhtsham @Lulu234 for Nursing, I recommend contacting Angela Jelavich, which is who I was told to contact for Nursing majors. her email is ajelavich@usfca.edu
best of luck!!

I got iN!!! No financial aid information yet, anyone know when that comes?

To the people who have heard back and got in - congratulations!! Do you mind telling me what state you live in? Just curious if that has anything to do with anything…I’ve been checking my mail incessantly and feel like I’m going crazy haha

Update for any nursing transfers: I called admissions and they said we will be notified starting on May 1. I wait to see how many freshman accept and then decide how many transfers from there. The wait continues…
