Transfer tips

Interested to transfer to Williams for my sophomore year of undergrad. Anyone know what admissions is looking for specifically in transfer candidates/is the rate as low as for ivies/other top tiered schools? thanks in advance!

the rate is super low. they’re definitely looking for A) sick grades B) challenging courseload C) the other, usual qualifications and D) some damn good reasons to pick Williams.

I was accepted to Williams as a transfer in March. While I can say that my academics were solid, I hardly think it helped much. I recommend that you focus on differentiating yourself from the other 4.0 students by showing the unique contributions you will bring to Williams. This may be unique life experiences, passion for a particular cause, or whatever makes you tick.

The transfer acceptance rate is very low. This year there are only 6 incoming transfer students.
