Transfer to a 4-yr college and major in architecture?

Hi everyone,

I am interested in architecture and I am transferring as a sophomore student. The problem is that I haven't take anything relevant to architecture in high school because I studied high school in other country and we don't have a lot of choices.

I mean, can anyone tell me, what is the procedure to enter architecture major? Can a person like me, who lacks background, be admitted?

Thanks very much!

Have you taken any art classes? From what I have heard from admissions officers, this is most important. Some require a portfolio, some do not. My son has been admitted into a few arch programs and has not yet had to submit a portfolio, but he has taken art classes all throughout high school.

Into a;

4yr BA in architecture program should be doable although you won't be eligible for licensing.

5yr BArch program would be unlikely unless you start over as a 1st yr student.

MArch program after a BA or BS in any major is another path you could take.
