Transfer to a school in my home state.

I have to transfer to a school in my home state because of personal problems with my family.
I am currently a freshman in college with a Spanish major and pre-medicine track.
I go to Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania and I have a terrible GPA. I had a tutor the first semester but she didn't help me much so I think I did terrible.
The schools I will be applying to are:

Sweet Briar College (First Choice )
Hollins University (Second Choice)
Hampton University (Third Choice)
Mary Baldwin College
Christopher Newport University

College GPA: 2.98
ACT: 21
High School GPA: Terrible

I applied to Sweet Briar my senior year and got wait listed but then denied because my updated transcript got sent late.
College Classes:
Biology: C+
Biology Lab: B
Biology Recitation: A (1 credit course)
European History: B
Spanish: B
First Year Seminar: B+

Two of my grades dropped to B's from B+'s because of final exams.

Current Classes:
Biology
Biology Lab
Psychology
Spanish
College Writing
Probability and Statistics
Precalculus

I am doing well in a majority of my classes, I just had a bit of a rocky start this semester because of material in math but I am positive I will finish the semester above a 3.2 GPA

I was just wondering if I have a chance at getting into Sweet Briar as I have always wanted to go. I have already sent my transcript and I am currently working on sending my transfer essay to them by this friday. My writing teacher is writing my recommendation and I have an A in his class right now including a lot of work that has been done on a continuous basis. I really need to get into Sweet Briar as I know I would be happy there and strive and it is one of a few colleges within 2 hours of my home. I can't go to community college because my family would hate that but I am really trying to cut the 6 hour drive to my current school to a quarter of that amount or even half. I would love to go but do I stand a chance as a transfer going into my sophomore year?

anyone? really… I need some assistance because I need to get in to make sure I get in. I can no longer stay at the current college for a variety of circumstances. Bump? anyone?

Bump!?

Pick up the phone. Call Sweet Briar. Talk with the admissions officers there. Let them know how much you want to come, and that SBC was your first choice last year.

Good luck!
