Transfer to a school where your classes dont have equivelents?

What happens with students who want to transfer to schools where their current(Normal Large State school) credits do not have equivelencys. Will i not get in? Will i have to retake everything?

You can still definitely be able to get in, but you may have to fulfill some more requirements at the university you want to transfer to. For example, if you took precalculus at a community college and the school you want to transfer to doesn’t offer precalculus, you may get the credit for precalculus but you would have to take another math course. It all depends on the college, but your admission to the school should not be affected. The courses that will transfer over if you get in may be affected though. Don’t let this stop you from applying though.

Each receiving institution determines which courses at your old college/university can be used to replace courses at the new one, which courses can be used for elective credit, and which can’t be used at all. Don’t worry about the course titles and/or numbers not matching up. The important thing is the course content. You should hang on to all of your course syllabi, textbook lists, and graded homework/papers/lab notebooks/etc. At then new place, this kind of back up material may allow you to petition for credit or placement once you have been admitted.
