Transfer to a UC or CSU

So my story is a little complicated compare to a normal UC transfer. I was accepted in to a college under their pre-dental program and did very poorly mostly due to my own fault. After 2 years I was disqualified academically and from financial aid. This hit me really hard and was a real wake up call, I decided to continue my education at a community college aiming for computer science, after 1 year I have a 3.5 GPA, I applied re-admission to my old school and was re-admitted but however might fact the fact I might not get financial aid if the appeal fails.

If the appeal fails I plan on doing other year at the community college and transfer to a UC/CSU to finish my degree in computer science. If I can keep my grade up above a 3.5 gpa how good are my chances of being admitted in to a UC/CSU? Thanks for any help.

If anyone has any idea about financial aid appeal please read this and give me any advice you can. Thank you.

There are CSUs with no campus impaction or major impaction for CS (e.g. CSUB, CSUDH, CSUEB) that will admit you as a transfer with a 2.0 college GPA. But most CSUs have some campus or major impaction, so they may have higher threshold GPAs.

UCs review holistically, so they may give more consideration to having made an academic turnaround, though they are generally more selective than CSUs.

But if I manage to maintain a high gpa, 3.5+ in my 2 year in community than my chances are good for transfer?
