So here is my dilemma. I have completed about 90% of my general education classes; with the remaining 10% being my math classes (currently taking Calculus 1). In addition, originally I was following the STARS transfer guide for non-engineering computer science programs in the state of Alabama. The only difference between this and the computer science departments that are in the engineering schools are that it requires you to take Physics. However, since I was following the non-engineering ones, I took the sequences of Biology 1 and 2. However, after a recent visit to Auburn, I started to really like their school as opposed to UAH. However, I learned that there was a difference and I would, therefore, lose credit in the science sequence. My question is whether I should just go to UAH, where I will be able to jump directly into junior level classes, or attend Auburn and be classified as a pre-engineering major for a semester, which from my understanding, would hold me back from taking some of the CS classes. In addition, I would like if I could get some opinion on which programs you think are better, in terms of faculty, rankings, etc, etc. I already know that I will most likely end up working in Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, Alabama regardless of where I go. Thank you to anyone who shares their opinion.
