I am currently a student at UC santa Cruz. I hate it here! Berkeley has always been my dream school, however I did not work very hard in high school and I am not in-state resident. I want to transfer after to years to UC berkeley or at least try, even though I know my chances are very slim. Do you know what kind of stuff they would be looking at?

To be competitive for intercampus transfer, you should complete the general education and major prerequisite requirements at UCSC prior to the end of your sophomore year. The UC reciprocity agreement allows you to use the requirements from UCSC to fulfill the requirements at Berkeley.

Berkeley generally discourages intercampus transfer. Applicants with compelling reason for needing the transfer and those who have exceptional academic records and/or leadership potentials are more likely to be considered for acceptance.
