Transfer to Boston University.

I'm currently entering my sophomore year at the University of Connecticut and I would like to transfer to Boston University for my junior year.
I have a 3.874 GPA and 38 credits so far.
I haven't had the chance to join any clubs or extracurriculars because I transitioned from a branch campus to the main campus for my second semester.
I am taking 17 credits next semester and am an English major

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me my chances?

I was previously accepted into CGS but declined because of financial situations/not being accepted into CAS

You can, but it’s not really worth it. UConn is on the same level as BU. Considering the hassle of transferring and adjusting, I’d stay at UConn. However, your chances are definitely high.

are there any other colleges you think I should apply to? I’m really unhappy with my situation at Uconn.

There are schools like Tufts, Brandeis, Conn. College that are better than UConn/BU academically.

What exactly do you not like at UConn though? Is it the social scene, city, professors, or academics? Your grades are decent and they can help you transfer to a good school, I don’t want to say Ivies since it’s more of a lottery there- but you do have a shot at top schools [ assuming you have a good HS record].

I don’t like how closed off the campus is from the real world. I’d rather roam around a city and feel independent. Also it’s very boring and the only thing to do is drink. Which I’m not really a big fan of.

BU is great. I believe its at least 15 ranks better than UConn so it’ll be an improvement. And its a city integrated campus so you can feel “independent.”

Try looking at Boston College, USC, UCLA.

^ UConn is already a good school with a fine reputation, BU is on that same par. I’d say BU’s only clear advantage over UConn is its location in Boston. BU’s campus is not really a campus. Most of the buildings are on the commonwealth ave without a typical “green area” or whatever. A urban campus; Boston is your campus.

Tufts is an upgrade on both sides. 9 miles from Boston and about 33 ranks better than UConn. It’s definitely a tough school to get into, but doesn’t hurt trying.

I don’t really mind that BU isn’t really a campus. Yeah I thought about applying to Tufts as well.
Thanks!

Also I visited Boston College the first time around and didn’t really like it too much. I’ll def check out USC and UCLA though
