Transfer to Brown....

So these are the stats (I know this should be in the transfer section, but I need more imput...)

HS - elite New England prep - steady incline to a 5.0/6.0 (honor roll) all senior year, dorm leadership position, arts editor for a magazine, other clubs, 1420 SATs (only taken once), 670, 700, 800 SAT IIs (the 800 was in Writing).

Freshman year of college - CU Boulder - 3.424/4.00 taking 17 credit hours (the average freshman takes 13-15) on top of a part time job (two whole days per week), journalism board member, joined College Democrats AND College Republicans for perspective. I'm taking 19 credit hours this semester, but won't have the job. I think I can get my GPA up.

This is my dilemma: do I apply to Brown now, or next year? I qualify to go abroad for all of next year, because I took enough credit hours to be a second semester sophomore starting in the fall. I was going to study English literature in England, and try to get a publishing internship, and apply to Brown from England. But if I don't get in then, I've blown all my chances - I can't apply to be a transfer senior!

Any help would be much appreciated, especially from Brown transfers who have stats they can share. Do I apply now, or wait? (I will be asking for financial aid, and they are need aware, by the way.) Sorry that this is so long!

Bump...

Please, anyone?

Apply now and if you don't get in apply next year. Go full steam ahead on all fronts including CU study abroad. I had to do this when I transferred, I was even elected to a student council position but when I got in I left.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear :)
