I am considering to transfer to Columbia and MIT (I will be a freshman in college in the Fall).

Is it possible to apply transfer prospective to more than one college?
I heard different sayings: some say I can't apply to Columbia and MIT at the same time.

Double deposit I understood very clearly.
But for the deferral policy, I am confused.
Let say I got accepted to both Columbia and MIT, isn’t that a “offer”?
Can I still defer the acceptance?

What that says is that transfer students can’t defer period. Even if you only applied to Columbia and they offered you admissions, you couldn’t defer admissions. Most schools don’t let transfer students defer admissions.

Wait, are you saying you want to attend both institutions, as in concurrent enrollment? Or you want to apply to both, and attend one? I understand that you wanted to apply to both but only planned to attend one. If you want to attend both, that’s not possible unless it is through a special program, or you apply as a visiting student to one while you are enrolled in the other. But no, you can’t be enrolled at both institutions.

Concurrent enrollment is possible in grad school with special permission, but not as an undergrad, the exception being that you can sometimes take classes at a community college.

yes lol. defer would mean you are accepted but for example, you ask them if you can delay your attendance there until the following year. they will not let you do that.
