what are my chances for transferring to cornell aem/ uva for business
what would I need to get at Wake?
thanks

I applied to UVA and cornell my senior year in high school, but got rejected. I finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 increasing significantly every year, also got a 4.4 my senior year first semester. I have good ecs and 29 ACT/ 1980 SAT. I am planning on going to Wake Forest for a year and then trying to transfer, I am looking to major in business, what gpa would I need to transfer to either UVA of cornell aem? Because of Wake is known for tough grading would anything above a 3.5 be above average chances?
Thanks

It’ll be tough getting into AEM with your SAT score, but if you do really well at Wake you might have a chance. Don’t know much about UVA so I couldn’t help you there.

do you know people that have transferred into AEM>

and do SATs play as big a role if I do really well at WAKe fresh. year?

nah, they care less about your SAT scores if you apply for a junior level transfer. get your gpa above a 3.7 but most importantly get some relevant internship/work experience. i’ve found out that even college admissions officers especially for business want to see internship/work experience over extra-curricular activities. don’t join a frat if your going to transfer it’s gonna feel like a waste of time. and if you get some sweet extra-curricular to distinguish yourself it would be cool… like being a member of the club frisbee team or you starteed your own microinitative club.

anyone if I do well at wake how does it look for cornellll???

^ they don’t care where you come from. do well, the end.

in aem, they care more about your experience in the business , if any. Why you decided aem as major. basically, they want a fit. however, your scores seem ok. I’d be optimistic  from an AEM major  contact me if you have questions

you cant transfer in to aem if i remember correctly.

you can I checked online, what do you think my chances are?

you can definitely transfer into AEM. in fact, by the time seniors graduate, there are more transfers in the class than original AEM freshmen.

any idea what i should get involved in/ do to enhance my app.??

I transferred into AEM last fall after completing 2 years at another school. College2007 is right on the money with SAT and GPA; the SAT is still considered, but to a lesser extent, and maintaining a GPA at or above 3.7 is essential to be competitive. Also, try to parallel your classes to the curriculum that’s required for the first 2 years in AEM. PM me if you have more questions.

is transferring to aem easier than acceptance out of hschool

does not taking bio hurt your chances of admission to aem?

yes. you need bio 1 and 2 bc they are pre reqs

Transferring into AEM is easier than getting in after high school. At AEM Days they said that the group grows from around 90 to over 200.

does anyone know the acceptance rate and is it worth taking bio at a CC over the summer to fulfill the requirement

you dont need bio as a pre-reqs when you apply, you can tell cornell you will take them during summer. Then if u get in just take them at a cc befoe attending

cornell states those with all pre-reqs completed get preference, but i know a lot of people who didnt take a few of them and got in. like a lot

Hi, guys, I’m also considering to apply for transfer to AEM for Fall of 2011. I’m in the same boat as OP, apply as freshmen didn’t get in etc. I’m wondering how does my AP credits count toward the pre-reqs? for instance, I got a 5 on my AP bio exam, do I still have to retake the class in college?
