Transfer to Cornell Chances

Hello all, I attend the flagship SUNY and have a GPA of 4.0. I am currently a second semester sophomore and was wondering what my chances of transferring into Cornell would be. I am not sure which school exactly but maybe CAS or ILR. My HS states are far from special but I am hoping those won't be weighed much...SAT 1860...hoping i dont have to send those either! Thanks all!

I heard you don’t have to send your SAT scores. I’m not sure though.

ILR doesn’t require SATS. Your GPA is great, good luck.

Wow. I went to SUNY (not telling the exact name) but it was not Stony. Anyway I had a 3.9 gpa/29 ACT which is roughly a 1900 SAT/ faced the same situation as you I ended up applying to CAS and I’m really glad I did. CAS doesn’t care about what went on during high school or your SAT. Just put together a solid application and a great essay about what you hope to gain from transferring to Cornell i.e something that you don’t have at SUNY.

What do you want to do out of college?

I am not sure yet what I want to do out of college. Maybe something in government or lobbying. Possibly law school. Pretty wide open at this point
