I know transfering into CSOM is an almost impossible process but what would be my best chances to do so? Are there target GPA’s that are looked for or anything specific? Any help would be great!

Make sure you take the prereqs…one reason that transfers are not successful is bcos the student would then be behind and unable to graduate in four years.

Figure out a way to finagle yourself into the first class, Portico.

I would venture to guess that at least a 3.7 for your freshman year would be a good place to be. Also, start talking and networking with CSOM faculty.

From the BC website:

If you attend the fall transfer session, they’ll tell you what you need to do and what specific criteria they are looking for that will make you a competitive candidate for an internal transfer.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to take Portico until you are in CSOM, because the class is closed to non-business majors. But you can take other courses required for CSOM such as Calculus, Statistics, MicroEcon, and/or MacroEcon in your freshman year, so that you can stay on track for graduation in 4 years.

Thank you very much worried mom that was very helpful!

Do you know if it’s possible to double major?
I was accepted to CAS, but I would also like to study some business as an undergraduate student, as I am looking to do business school later on.

Unfortunately, business majors are restricted only to people in CSOM. You can always double major in economics if business really is an interest to you and you can also take up to 6 (I think) business classes, which technically is about the size of a typical CSOM concentration, but you won’t get anything on your diploma that said you took them.

ready2go4 is right. As an A&S student, you can’t pick business for a double major, but you can still take up to 6 classes in CSOM. Many A&S students take intro accounting and finance classes.
