Transfer to csu with a low gpa? ;(

Hello, I am currently a CC student about to get an Associates degree for transfer (ADT) for psychology and Im applying to cal poly pomona and cal state fullerton for fall 2019. I currently have a 2.36 gpa… but I currently have all A’s in my classes this semester and hoping it would bump my gpa. I also have two more classes to take in the spring. I also read about “local transfers” how people who are attending a local CC near a csu campus get priority if they are applying for a major that’s not impacted (cal poly is the school I’m closest to.) I would like some insight on how my chances on getting accepted are???

Moved to Cal Poly Pomona.

California Community College Students who earn a transfer associate (AA-T or AS-T) degree are guaranteed admission with junior standing to a CSU and given priority admission over other transfer applicants when applying to a local CSU campus, or non-impacted CSU program.

This means you get priority but not a guaranteed admission to CPP but you are guaranteed admission to a CSU campus which may or may not be your preferred campus.

Ahhhh, okay thanks for that! All I can do now is pull off all As and bump my gpa up

Best of luck and make sure you have a backup. If you are not accepted, they will redirect your application to a campus that does have room.

I’m also on the low GPA spectrum, my cumulative GPA is 2.99. I attended 3 CC’s before my current one where I have a 3.68 GPA. My previous work bumps it down to 2.99 I applied to a few other CSU’s, the one close to me is CSULA which is my other top choice besides CPP.

Good luck to you! Hopefully we both get into our top schools
