I've messed up many times in my college applications and so it looks like im going to CUNY Lehman this fall. However, I want to transfer out of there immediately, as currently I live in Queens and its a very tiring 1 hr commute. So I was wondering how I can transfer to another CUNY (City College is my choice) for the spring semester. Is that possible? The cuny website says that the transfer deadline for spring semester is September 15th. Isn't that too early to send in anything because college starts in early september?

Please shed some light on this, im terribly lost and becoming hopeless :/

Instead of schlepping to the Bronx, why don’t you apply to Queensboro for the fall semester and then transfer to Queens? You can take your basic math, english or whatever as QCC and it will transfer to QC. The tuition at QCC is slightly less and you’d save on time and travel costs.

If you got into Lehman, you should get into QCC as long as there is space.

Please don’t discount CCNY just because you made mistakes on your application and have already been admitted to Lehman. If your desire is to attend CCNY, then I will be happy to review your application for possible Fall admission. Please contact me as soon as possible, so that we discuss your case in further detail.

I had gotten accepted to York College and attended the summer classes there as well. But I was not financially clear to register for class and I wasn’t aware nor was I informed by the Financial Aid office that this was the problem. When I tried to register, they simply told me I was too late and had to go to a community college for a semester and I could transfer back or transfer anywhere else. My main goal was to transfer out of York in a year anyways to Queens College or City College. So now I’m going to QCC for a semester My friend who got accepted to John Jay had a similar problem and has to go to QCC as well. Now I was just wondering how many credits I need, or what gpa I have to maintain to get into CCNY or QC after a semester?
