Transfer to Davis as a Chemistry major w/o taking O-Chem?

Hey everyone, I just posted this in the Davis forum but thought I might get a better chance of getting a response here.

I'm planning on transferring to Davis Fall 2012 either as a Chemistry or Env. Science major and have a quick question. ASSIST.org strongly suggests that you finish all lower div chem before transferring as a chem major, but unless I stay at my jr college another year (which is NOT happening), then I will be 2 chem classes short (o-chem 1 and 2). My question is what do you think the chances of me being admitted as a chem major are without these two classes?

A quick secondary question, if I end up getting admitted as Env. Science, is it relatively easy to make a small major change as it would be to switch to chem once I'm at the UC?

As long as you have a solid GPA, you should have a good chance of getting in. And no it shouldn’t be too hard to change majors (assuming its not impacted).

Thanks for the quick response, and GPA won’t be an issue, especially with TAG.
