Hi, i am planning to apply as a transfer to elite colleges(Dartmouth,Amherst, trinity) as a transfer from India. I am an engineering student currently in my freshman year and most probably will apply around next year. My GPA is 9.2 that is probably around 3.6 in 4.0 scale. I have scored 2050 in SAT. I have bad high school grades(B,C,C,C,D) due to my drug habits(clean since last year). I have been a active member of a few clubs and also a member of my college soccer team. Though i am not from a top notch college in India, but i still have done independent projects on my own. I have a good relation with my professors so recos are not an issue.I am a CS student. What are my chances? And yes, i am looking for financial aid. Thanks…
Your chances are incredibly low. I’m glad to see that you’ve taken control of your addiction, this shows a lot of maturity.
Get your bachelors degree from India and then apply for masters programs in the US
^^ listen to the above advise.
International students applying as freshman rarely get financial aid from colleges, and none is available for transfer students.
apply as a grad student. then your HS record will not be an issue- transfer applicants have to send their HS transcripts to colleges.
