Transfer to George Washington Univ

So I am a freshman at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, and I am looking to transfer to George Washington University for Fall 2013 as an International Business student. I applied to GWU when I was in high school but I did not get in, understandably. Here is what i've got at the moment. I am currently in Pre-International Business.

High School GPA: 3.3 (attended an International School in England for freshman and sophomore year before moving back to Connecticut)

SAT Scores:
1st Time: Math 560, Reading 620, Writing 560.
2nd Time: Math 570, Reading 590, Writing 550

AP Scores: (self-studied within a matter of weeks)
AP Macroeconomics - 3
AP Comparative Governments and Politics - 3

College (First semester GPA): 3.70
English 101 (required), Calculus, Beginner German, University Intro Course (everyone takes it), and Controversies in World Politics

Second Semester:
Finite Mathematics, Intro to Microeconomics, German Beginner lvl 2, English 102 (required), and Intro to Macrosociology

E/C: Not much except for the Honors Society, Outdoors club, and intermural Volleyball. I had a lot in high school if that matters.

So let me know what you think my chances are, at the moment my grades arent too great because my dad had a heart attack at the beginning of the semester and I had to fly home for a few days. What I'm worried about at the moment is macrosociology, I want to drop it and get a "W", but I'm worried that GWU might see that as a sign of taking the easy way out. I have a 70 in the class at the moment, and it will take a ton of work to get it into the 80's by the end of the semester. Should I drop it and make sure my other grades are good or try to pull it up at the risk of bringing my GPA down?

I know this is long, but I sincerely want nothing more then to go to GWU. Thanks for the help.
