GPA: 4.00 unweighted / 4.25 weighted

hook: i'm not a native speaker and i just moved to the US three years ago.

I was rejected by princeton, yale, and stanford (didn't apply to harvard and mit) and i'm going to upenn next year. What are my chances of transferring into the top-tier schools (hysm only since princeton doesn't offer transfer admissions)? Also, I go to a ultra-competitive magnet school. I think it's harder to get into the top-notch schools from here b/c it's harder to stand out.

UPenn is a top school.

Also, Harvard no longer accepts tranfers I believe.

I can’t believe you were rejected by Princeton… you must not have had a good essay/recs.

My essays are quite good. Recs i’m not sure…

Yeah Harvard no longer accepts transfer students. So I can only try MIT Yale and Stanford? And I already got rejected by two of them this year. This does not look good…

*** is wrong with UPenn???

there’s nothing wrong with upenn, but i would much rather go to one of hypsm, and maybe caltech.

anyone please? i’d appreciate any idea on why i didn’t get into those schools / how to transfer into them.

Is there any reason you prefer those over UPenn? Because UPenn is a top notch school also.

those schools have better prestige.

The students I know who have been accepted to HYPSM have not only had great numbers like yours, but amazing accomplishments outside the classroom. The top schools are looking for people who are not only smart, but are going to be extremely influential down the road. The next Bill Gates, or Barack Obama. Probably your profile did not show that quality.
Your chances of being able to transfer to one of these schools are not good, because they have so few openings for transfers. Try if you want, but make the most of UPenn.
