Hi, I'm a freshman at UMass-Amherst and I am trying to transfer to a school with a really good engineering program, in a warmer climate than I'm at now and preferably on the coast (east or west coast, doesn't matter).

High School Stats:
GPA: 3.63 unweighted, took almost all honors and AP classes
high school was unranked, but top notch
SAT: 790 M, 610 V
SAT II: 760 M/IC, 710 Bio, 700 Writing
AP: bio 5, BC calc 5
Extracirriculars: Tri-sport, Captain for two of them, NHS, lawn mowing business in summer, babysitting, time keeping youth hockey games
Awards: multiple sports awards, math award for excellence, latin award for excellence

College Stats:
GPA: 3.98 thus far, with bio, a history class, honors chem and writing and an honors 1 credit course.
Extracirriculars: Lifeguarded all summer, teaching swimming lessons now and guarding a little, tutoring varsity athletes, time keeping youth hockey games, and i swim and run on a normal basis but i don't know how i'd put that on an application seeing how i'm not on a sports team or anything...
other information: i'm white and i will need lots of financial aid...assume i have great recommendations and essay(s).

just wondering what my odds are at getting into schools like johns hopkins or berkeley or other top notch engineering schools (preferably environmental) that are in climates with less bitter winters than massachusetts, and are also under an hours drive to the coast. should i go ahead and apply for next fall, or should i wait a year and build up my ECs before i apply? if anyone has suggestions for other schools that fit this criteria, that'd be great! thanks.
