I'm currently a freshman at Temple University. I am in the Honors Program at Temple University and I am thinking of transferring to Northeastern University. I will be majoring in Biology with a pre-med tract. When I was originally applying for fall enrollment I was accepted to Northeastern but I didn't get enough money.

Does it seem logical to transfer schools just based on academics, is Northeastern really superior to Temple? Northeastern was my top choice so I may be biased in this decision. Just looking for some outside clarification since my mind is so skewed at the moment. I am doing well in my first semester getting mostly A's with a B.

Im sorry dionte but i am going to respectfully disagree with you here. Northeastern is the better school. I don’t like to put an emphasis in rankings and teachers are arbitrary but I do however think student statistics are important. Clearly the learning environment at NEU is better than Temple. Also, your campus visit doesn’t make you that knowledgable.

Cool story, bro. If you think you’re a better school, that’s your prerogative (you’re not). All for several thousands dollars more per year. Unless you’re on a significant scholarship, you’re getting ripped off. Glorified Drexel.

My intuition tells me that you are insecure just look at the tone of your posts and you’re also on the Northeastern board. You don’t see me going on other school boards and responding with ad hominem responses such as “cool story bro”, “glorified Drexel” do you?

So? Did you google northeastern to try and find something to say? We don’t care. Going to one of our hockey games is a lot more fun than most schools.

Hey either of you who actually go to NEU I am thinking of transferring there, what has your experience been like? do you like the school? I am a business major transferring from a jc in southern california. Just curious as to what life is like at NEU and what not…

If you didn’t enroll at Northeastern originally because of financial aid, I doubt transferring will help because from my experience, transfer students get less fin aid than those accepted as freshmen I was applying to transfer elsewhere, not TO NU, so don’t take my word for NU’s fin aid, but I’m pretty sure that transfer students anywhere get less financial aid than admitted freshmen.

Also, I do like NU although I was a bit unsure about it at first. The co-op program is helpful for getting your feet wet especially since you are in Boston and fairly close to NYC. There’s a great deal of focus on experiences outside of the classroom (international experience, service learning on top of co-op) as well as student activities.
