Transfer to Northwestern or Stay at Rutgers?

I've recently received an acceptance letter to transfer from Northwestern and I'm quite conflicted about whether or not I should go.

At Rutgers, I receive tuition remission and scholarships that basically amount to a full ride. At Northwestern, I don't really expect to get any kind of financial aid.

At the same time, I'm looking to enter medical school. So there's really only one question to ask: Which university will give me a better chance of getting into the best-possible medical school? Looking at the statistics, it seems NU would be the better choice, but I was wondering if someone else could give me a more well-informed opinion?

About me:
I am in incoming junior with a GPA hovering between 3.8/3.9. Have not taken the MCATs yet. Grades-wise, I'm not worried. But my extracurriculars have always been pretty weak and despite best efforts, I haven't done any research yet. I intend to major in Mathematics with a minor in either Biology or Physics.

ETA: The reason why I applied for a transfer from Rutgers is actually because I might lose the $30k tuition remission if the Rowan-Camden move happens. Nobody from the university seems to know what will happen to my financial aid, so I just wanted to give myself more options.

Congrats on the NU news!

I will leave this here, but my advice is to copy and post it on the PreMed Topics forum. There are many very experienced and helpful members there who understand the med school admissions process and can give you the pros and cons of transferring.

At this point, my guess is that they’re going to recommend staying at Rutgers due to finances and the difficulty of getting LORs, ECs, etc. as a jr transfer.

Thanks, I reposted at the appropriate forum.
