<p>Hi, I am very interested in applying to Notre Dame out-of-state for this upcoming spring. Does anyone know the average stats of accepted transfers?</p>
<p>I want to major in Econ and have a 3.62 after one year with A's in difficult courses like Calculus, Stat, English, etc. I had a 3.9 overall in high school with a 4.3 in both my Junior and Senior years. I have solid essays etc. However, my SAT 1 score is rather low - it's in the 1100's. </p>
<p>Do I have a chance here?</p>

<p>I heard that what you did in HS( in your case SAT's) do not really matter that much for transfer students. I'm not sure how true that is, but I hope so, because my GPA is much higher now than it was in HS. Also I could get into a pretty decent school based on my GPA but my SAT scores are not that good, so lets hope they don't count too much.</p>
<p>Depending on the school, your HS record may or may not hold a great deal of weight in transfer admissions. Penn, for example, probably won't admit you if your high school transcript has blemishes, despite being an academic superstar in college. Conversely, Yale has been known to accept those who haven't perfomed well in high school but rejuvenated themselves in college.</p>

<p>I'm thinking about trying to transfer to Notre Dame as well. I feel pretty stupid because I did a lot of pleading last spring to get in, but when I finally did off the waiting list I pulled out (after sending in a deposit). Still, I can't get Notre Dame off my mind and think I might like to go there yet. My stats are decent (I think I possibly could have gotten in without the waiting list if I was coming from the right high school...) so at least I have that going for me. I'd be applying to Arts & Letters too, if that makes a difference. Anyone know anything about transfer statistics for Notre Dame, and whether or not they would look down upon me for having turned down their acceptance the first time around? Should I even bother applying? Any feedback would be appreciated!</p>

<p>I recently met a woman from Notre Dame's Women in Engineering Program at a conference I attended. Here is what I believe I CAN tell you re. Notre Dame's acceptance rate for transfer students:
Have a very good SAT score
If you are a woman applying in engineering, especially aeronautical and astronautical engineering, it helps. The conference I attended made it very clear that EVERYONE in aerospace is trying to get more students into this field, and Notre Dame has a program specifically for women. So, if you have any inclination towards this and want to go to Notre Dame, major in AAE. It will improve your chances of acceptance.
I am under the impression that applicants in the hard sciences will be more readily accepted. Again, there is a tremendous demand for people in math, science, and engineering majors these days. If you want to transfer, your chances improve if you're in one of these majors. Being a woman helps, too.
Try to find someone at the admissions office with whom you can correspond.

<p>Hey, I am applying at ND as well. I am a girl and I am interested in their hard sciences except I didn't take physics and the app says that both chem and physics are required of science intents. I do however have 5 yrs of science because my school offers an exciting running start biological solutions class taught by the #1 biotechnology high school teacher in the nation (he's in Chicago receiving his award right now:) ) Is this a circumstance that would waive this physics req. or should I just mark a different intended major on my app?</p>
