So currently I am a high school senior. 2.9 gpa, 1400 SAT score. Sucks i know. Suprisingly in AP classes and doing well in them. Im actually really smart but due to alot of family issues my school life is hurt, and im in my 4th high school, various personal reasons for my grades and scores. Wrote all about it in my essay and my counselor told me to apply to private schools who will "read my story and care". NYU = dream school. However, i have a feeling i probably wont get in and am mentally prepared for that.

If i dont get into NYU i really dont wanna go to another private school and spend alot of money for just one year due to the economy and my own financial issues, unless i get alot of money? Does that make sense?
Is it possible to transfer from a CUNY or SUNY school after one year to NYU? I'm also thinking about Nassau Community College which is regarded as the country's best community college. I really wanna go to NYU, it has everything i wanna do.

I plan on majoring in International Relations / Media & Communications
Gonna apply for CAS at NYU
