Hi to all!!

I'm a freshman at Tulane and I just don't like it. At all. Nope. And I was wondering if it was possible to transfer to NYU for their classical voice program for the winter semester.

My stats I guess are as follows:

High School
Final weighted: 3.99W (darn that A- in physics...)
Unweighted: 3.71UW
Rank: 58/317

My standardized test scores are horrid...and I do not intend on taking them again unless i won't get in.
However, here they are:

ACT: 25
SAT : 1860 (1170 w/o writing)

Now, how much does Steinhardt weigh standardized testing?

Anyways, thank you for reading this if you do. I woudl love to know if it's possible and if people think I'm in the "reach" category/

I don't think many people know the general admissions standards for transfers. but it is much, much more competitive than freshman admissions. 1/5 accepted as opposed to 1/3.

I highly doubt Steinhardt will accept freshman transfers for the spring, given that neither Stern, Tisch, nor CAS do. http://admissions.nyu.edu/applying_for_admission/index.php?category=transfer&page=the_transfer_admission_process

I strongly advise you to stick it out for at least two semesters. You've been in school for what, a month? That's not enough time to decide you don't like it.

shades_children. thanks for the input, but a month to me is plenty of time for me to know this is not the right place for me.

I am in the same boat as you Jeremybeach. A month is a good indicator! haha. When you know yourself, you can tell when a school is not a good fit. Good luck to you! I am trying to transfer to NYU for fall 2008.
