Transfer to NYU & other NYC schools

I'm interested in learning more about NYU. I'm a Junior in High School, and I have about a 3.6 which will most likely be a 3.7+ when I graduate. I have a really good job right now, and I'm not ready to leave home quite yet so I'm planning on attending CC for one or two years. How difficult is it to transfer to NYU after a year or two at CC? Any information about this would be helpful. Also, I know of Columbia (out of my league) and NYU, but what other schools are there in New York? Any info about any of this is fully appreciated.

“but what other schools are out there in New York?” google can tell you this.

i transferred to Steinhardt with a 3.45, two internships, a varsity sport, a job and an honors scholarship. i transferred from the CUNY system.

it depends on what school you’re transferring to. Stern has something like a 97 percent retention rate and is near impossible to transfer to. Steinhardt and Gallatin are easier.

^agreed if you’re planning to transfer to NYC for business NYU isn’t an option. I think that you might have a shot at CAS if you keep a solid GPA though.

I would most likely transfer to Steinhardt for Education.

Stern (despite the financial crisis) and Tisch are hardest to transfer too. CAS is right in the middle. Gallatin and Steinhardt are not easy but Steinhardt have higher acceptance rates and Gallatin does not look at GPA as much but rather on the essays more.

Thanks so much!
