Transfer to NYU

I really want to transfer to NYU. I am currently a Freshman at a State School. My GPA is a 3.8 but I intend to make it higher. I plan on applying after I complete two years at this school. This is what I should do instead of applying a year into a state school right?

Do you think I will get in?

In college I plan to have a GPA of 3.8 minimum, with extensive work experience and extracurriculars.
In High School I had a GPA of a 3.48. It wasn't the best. My SAT scores were even worse, at about a 1650, or something similar to that. I was an average student, but I did have a lot of extracurriculars!
I applied my senior year and, as expected, didn't get in.

Do you think I have a chance of getting in? After two years at a State School, getting all A's and working hard, I think I could have a chance. What do you think? I would appreciate the help!

If you apply to transfer in as a junior, NYU will not need your SAT scores - which is good because your SAT scores are far too low and NYU does not consider SAT/ACT retakes post high school graduation for transfer students. With a GPA of around 3.8, you would make a good transfer candidate for NYU. Remember though, it’s harder to get into NYU as a transfer student than as a freshmen!
