I am a first semester sophomore at Muhlenberg College, I want to transfer to NYU, my GPA freshman year was around a 3.4 but low because of a difficult course. I had around a 3.3 in High School and a 1090 on my SATs. I would not think that I am the most competitive candidate for transferring to NYU but I am also being recruited for a sport. I was wondering how much of an effect that plays on my admission? And with my numbers and the coachs support what do you think my chances are of getting in?
thanks for you help

It would not have zero effect on your decision obviously. It does help a lot. Which school are you applying to? I think you can shoot for Stern with the help from your coach.

3.4 GPA with difficult course load will also be considered I think.

Shoot for Stern or Bachelor's in Sports Management program at School of Continuing Education.

I am shooting for the school of Arts & Science to stay in the undergrad liberal art track

i dont know about the sports thing though...NYU isn't heavy into athletics at all...

True. The school doesn't give athletic scholarships, either. But we do have plenty of other things. :D

nyu doesnt give athletic scholarships but in sted of that they help you with the admissions process

I wouldn't know the answer to your question but I have another question...
I am a soccer athlete at a college which isn't a high ranked one, however the soccer program is very strong and I do well on the team, with a 3.3 gpa
what do you think the coach at NYU could do for me if I want to transfer to stern with a finance major as a junior in fall 2007?
are you guys sure that nyu doesn't give out athletic scholarship??
another question, does anyone know how stern professors act towards athletes annd the fact that they might miss some classes due to games?
please let me know
