Hi folks,

I am currently a freshman business major at BGSU, but I have plans to transfer to Ohio State next year.

I originate from the western suburbs of Chicago, I chose to BGSU because they gave me a lot of money and I figured it was better to go to a big, 4 year school for a year than a community college. I applied to OSU while I was in high school, but was deferred to the Lima campus. I got into a lot of Midwest-ish schools such as Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Mizzou, UK, and Miami Oh but OSU has been my dream school for as long as I can remember and I'm determined to go there.

I am curious as to what my chances are to get into OSU as a transfer student.

High school (I was a slacker at a competitive high school):
GPA: 3.3
ACT: 24

I am about to wrap up this semester with a 3.6 GPA doing 15 credit hours and intend on taking 16 credit hours next semester and I'm confident I'll end up in the 3.8 - 4.0 range.

Again, what are my chances? I see OSU has an 86% transfer student acceptance rate but I know that number is a bit skewed since they have so many students at regional campuses.

thanks in advance

HI. I am also a freshman at BGSU studying business wanting to transfer to OSU. it looks like we both had the same gpa and act score so we probably both have similar chances. When I was defered to LIma they told me that if I maintained a 2.0 gpa there for a semester that I would be admited to Main campus for the spring. I decided on BGSU instead. I would figure that if that is the case then it shouldn’t be too hard for someone like you or me to get in. They say the minimum gpa for a transfer is a 2.0 and they have accepted students from that on up. I have talked to other transfers and they all agree that it is easier to transfer into OSU than to get in after high school. I know this might not be much help but from all that I’ve heard, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem especially with a 3.8 after your first year at BG.
Both of you should know that transfer students do not always have the same scholarship opportunities as freshmen, YMMV
Thanks but at least in my case I am more worried about getting in than that right now…
Hi i was also wondering my chances. I am currently a out of state student. My GPA is around a 3.4 I don’t know if that competitive enough. I would like to transfer into the Fisher college of business but I haven’t taken calculus yet which is a requirement. Any advice would be wonderful
