Transfer to OSU from Miami University

I got into Miami with a 3.2 high school GPA from Brecksville Broadview Heights High School with a ton of extra curricular activities in which I was a president of two clubs and very involved. I wanted to apply as a second semester freshman to Ohio State. I have 3 B's, an A and one C+ as my midterm and those are the grades they will see. I had a 25 ACT as well. Are my chances good? I find out at the end of this month and I'm freaking out.

Since you’re currently attending Miami, I’ll assume you mean Ohio State University. But there are at least three OSUs in the country. Best to clarify.

You should be fine. Im in the same position and i already got accepted into OSU

How long did it take for you to find out?

I found out within 2 weeks, I applied as an incoming freshman so they just had to renew my application, but its on a rolling basis, so it really shouldn’t take too long. Why are you considering the transfer?

It’s closer to home. You got in with the same criteria? As a first semester or second semester freshman?

Second semester, and yeah i had a higher ACT, but they dont even look at your college classes, they go mainly on highschool stats when you have less that 30 credit hours.

I really don’t think I stand a good enough chance of getting in but we’ll see

If I am applying as a second semester freshman, I only need to send my high school transcripts and test scores, correct? Because I don’t have a college transcript yet

Yeah that is pretty much all they will need. You can talk to an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor and they will also help you out and it is very easy to get a hold of them.

Okay, thank you.
So even though on the applicant center it says college transcript: incompleted, that doesn’t matter right?

Well with that I believe you still have to send them one, and once they see you in progress with all your classed they will change the status to: Waived. But give them a call and see what they say, they might be able to exempt you, but I did send one in.

Okay, thanks so much for the help. I did call and the woman I talked to said that once they receive my high school transcript, they will change the college transcript to waived. Also, one last question. She said it would take 4-6 weeks for a decision? Does it actually take that long?

My friend applied last week and found out today

Yeah I mean it could take that long, but it didn’t take any longer than 2 weeks for mine. edmund7, let me know when you find out, because I know you have a better chance than your giving yourself ha
