Hi everyone
I’m a freshman at NYU Stern with a 3.85 gpa
applying to Penn arts and science
I took a summer class at penn micro econ 101 and got an A-
and psych 101 at queens college and got an A+
bad high school gpa
720 math sat, 620 reading and 500 writing
i have an internship and good essays
can anyone please tell me my chances to get into my dream school Penn and what the average gpa from nyu that get accepted to penn thanks so much

Although you are already at a good school, NYU Stern ranks pretty high, its very difficult to transfer into Penn. Your gpa is in a good place, but thats only for one semester, so I would think your midterm report is very important, and I cannot see how it is. Your SATs are weak, you may want to take them again and apply next year if it does not work out. It is a plus that you took a summer class at Penn an earned an A-, and everyone knows micro is not easy. Overall, I think your chances are not good, especially since your highschool gpa is “bad.”

Since Penn is your dream school, you may want to give it another year and maintain the same grades, retake the SAT, and perhaps take more summer classes at Penn and do equally well.

thank you very much for ur response
i forgot to mention that English is my second language
would that make a diffrence?

If English is your second language, I’m sure they’ll look favorably on that. Keep in mind that Penn transfers are extremely tough.

oyyyyyyy i want to go there so badly

Have you taken the toefl exam? That may be a good idea

do u really think its necessary 620 is no shoe in at penn but i dont think its terrible also i got an A at writing the essay at NYU, i only got a 500 on the writing section because people told me it didnt count
