Hey everyone,

I am currently a Sophomore at ASU, I am looking to transfer to a better computer science school... preferably with a cyber security concentration. Does anyone know about the transfer process into PITT? is it possible to apply now (november) and get in for Spring 2015????

I have a 3.7 GPA
-currently doing research regarding Computer Security.
-Teaching Assistant
-deans list
-CS clubs
-good work experience

Thanks, i really appreciate any input

ASU is one of the schools my son is considering for fall 2015. He has been accepted into the csbs program. He wants to work in the video game industry. May I ask you what are the pros & cons of the cs program at ASU? Are you in Barrett? What dorm are you in & is there a dorm he should try for to avoid the parties? Does ASU have a gaming community? Thank You & I appreciate any insight you can offer.
Sorry I haven’t been on here in a while. I’m not currently in a dorm but I was in PV main, it wasn’t bad, just your typical dorm. ASU does have a lot of gamers in their CS program, I think theres also some clubs involving games. As for party dorms, I’m not really sure, probably Hassy and Manzi. Now the CS program here is okay, I have friends at another universities way ahead of what I am doing at ASU. The professors are good but sometimes I don’t feel challenged with the material. I would say look at another school with a stronger CS program. In the end it depends on your sons situation, such as scholarships, cost, etc. (go for the cheaper option!) I just want to add that I’m not saying you won’t have a good education if you graduate from ASU, but maybe look at other options.
