Transfer to Rice>?

I currently go to UT-Austin. I am a sophmore with 36 hrs in residence and 12 hrs. from CC during high school. I have a 4.0 GPA. My SAT is 1340 from senoir year in high school. I am a Neurobiology Major who is pre-med. I was wondering what my chances are to transfer to Rice in this spring. I applied to rice and didnt get in my senoir year but I was waitlisted at Wash U in St. Louis. But ultimately decided on UT. I am just kinda tired of the giant classes. I love the small school setting.

You have a good chance. If you elucidate your reasons for wanting to transfer, maintain your GPA, obtain good recommendations, and write a good essay, you will have as good a chance as anyone.

Thats good to hear.I forgot to put in the earlier post that I also did a summer research intership at the University of Texas Health Science Center at an infectious diseases lab. Anybody else have an opinion? Thanks

is it easier to transfer to rice in the spring or fall?

From what I have heard, it is more difficult in the Spring; however, a poster on this forum, citing an adcom as his source, claimed that Spring is easier.

thats interesting. I am going to try and transfer in the spring and if I dont get in then I am going to stay put at UT. Anybody have any tips with the rice app? thanks

The best advice for approaching the Rice application: be yourself.
