i want to transfer to scu as a sophomore... right now i am finishing my first semester at john jay college of criminal justice in nyc. i expect to have a 4.0 or 3.8 if i study hard for finals. i had only a 3.27 high school gpa and a 1280 on the SATs (710 verbal). i took 2 AP exams-- got a 5 in english, a 4 in psychology. i don't have many extracurriculars, just 100+ hours community service and 2 part time jobs through high school. i have gotten a lot of awards: english merit award, local councilwoman commendation, president's service award, work experience merit award, work experience scholarship, justice scholarship (at my current school, given to 10 students a year), gene clifton memorial scholarship (given by the police department in the city i used to live, 1 local student a year), honors program at my current school. i hope to get a good rec., but the teacher has only known me this one semester. i'm going to write a (hopefully) good essay on forensic psychology, what i want to study. do you think the uniqueness of this will help? i'm also in state although i am living in new york this school year. what do you think?
