What are my chances to get in?? Please Help applying now for Fall 2016
Major : Business with emphasis on Accounting
GPA: 2.7 now but after this fall semester and winter I will have around a 2.9 close to 3.0
I will have all my GE’s done and Major prep courses done as well
I will have my AA-ST in Business General so that will give me a little priority with .1 boost in GPA
Do i have a chance to get in? Thank you
SDSU is a tough admit if you are not in the local area and have attended a local CCC. Your GPA is also on the low side especially for a Business major. I suggest you apply, but definitely have a backup plan.
I would also look at the GPA’s of the admitted transfer students from last year to give you an idea of your chances.
As Gumbymom says, SDSU gives priority admittance to local area CC’s. Specifically Cuyamaca, Grossmont, Imperial Valley, San Diego City, San Diego Mesa, San Diego Miramar, and Southwestern. To get priority you need to have taken all of your college credit classes at one of these CCs. Business accounting is very tough to get into. Our local CC transfer adviser said he had a 4.0 GPA student turned down last year. It doesn’t hurt to apply anyway, but definitely apply to some backup colleges.
I recently heard that for Fall 2015 SDSU accepted 0 transfer students outside of the local service area!!!
