I'm a freshman in Georgia Tech (ranking 35), I wanna transfer to Top 10 universities or Ivy league schools for Fall 2010. My GPA this semester is about 3.5. I will take SAT again in Dec. and I think I can get 2200+
Can I get into top 10? Is my GPA too low?

Well I’m at USC (I think 26 in rankings?) with a similar GPA and lower SAT (2090, but 33 on ACT). And from the general looks, it’s possible, but not probable to get into them. Especially since HP don’t take transfer, and the rest all take very low amounts of transfers.

Possible, not probably.

And the SAT is a measure of how you will perform in college. If you take the SAT after you’ve attended college, the transfer school may not take that particular score, or may weigh it lightly.

Transfer to top ten schools even harder than get in as freshman. The biggest problem is space problem. There is just no enough space available. For example, CMU (which is not even top ten) is not that difficult to get in as freshman, but it is almost impossible to get as transfer student.
