@milldogfriedman are the ECs along the lines of publishing a best-seller or winning an international science fair? If they don’t rise to that level, I can’t see how they could matter, especially given the fact that you would need to have a compelling academic reason for the transfer.
There are what – 4000 accredited colleges in the US – and you’re going to a top 50. You said it’s an engineering school, not a liberal arts school. Is there any way to make it work for you academically?
Of the list you have, NYU, Gtown and Cornell have the best statistical chances of transfer. Although, Cornell has a published rate of transfer admission at about 20%, many of those stats are reserved seats for students in the NY state system.
@GnocchiB The EC’s are not international science level, but I think they are way better then working as a life guard at the local pool. I think I would be a better fit at one of the schools I am appling to then the one I am currently at.
As to making it work at the engineering school, I dont really think it would be possible. I want to go into a line of work that my current college does not really have a history of placing kids into.(I have allready talked to job placement)
Bump, would like to know what more people thing.
Another FYI, the biggest transfer to Ivy schools are other other Ivy schools.
@boolaHI I did not know that. I thought I read that Harvard does not accept transfers from other ivys.
Thanks for posting!

OP, what area do you want to go into? Maybe other posters can recommend some good schools with that program in case the Ivies don’t work out as a transfer applicant.
@GnocchiB Thanks for being so active, I would like to do VC. Thanks for posting.
I think to get the most relevant advice, I’d recommend starting a new thread entitled “Want to Transfer - What Are the Best Colleges for Venture Capital?” Include your stats. There may actually be some lesser-known California colleges that may pop up. I’m guessing that most people who go into VC come from other areas and it seems like an engineering background would be useful – but I am a lawyer who stays home with kids now, so what do I know?
Good luck -
@GnocchiB Wil make a new thread. Thanks helping me out.
The folks I know who recruit for VC firms on the undergrad level are Wharton, Harvard, Stanford, and Cal are the main ones I have heard, although I know of folks from MIT and Y also getting offers.
