I'm currently undecided in UIC right now and i wanted to transfer to U of I because of their top engineering program. My GPA is 3.65 and I have all A's in my science, math, and physics classes. What are my chances of getting in U of I? and is it better for me to declare my major in UIC and then transfer in between its engineering college or stay undecided?

i dont think it matters if you decalre a major or not…but U of I engineering is extremly difficult to get into and even harder to transfer into.

its gonna be tough…good luck

It is way, way easier for you to transfer into UIC’s College of Engineering, assuming you meet all the transfer requirements. UIC Engineering is not a bad college. It is in the shadow of UIUC’s programs. We get a lot of good quality people who either did not want to or could not go to UIUC.

yeah, I will probably get into UIC’s college of engineering, that’s what my counselor said. I don’t know if it’s easier to transfer undecided or transfer with a declared a major?

Well since you are coming from UIC and it is in the University of Illinois system, you automatically have priority over any other applicant not applying from UIC.

UIC students will get second priority when trying to transfer to UIS or UIUC. First priority will go to current students of that campus.

should i declare my major though? or stay undecided? would it matter?

i have the same question about whats better: undecided or declared major???!!!
