Transfer To U PITT

<p>hey guys. Im applied to transfer to U Pitt but i am freaking nervous right now!!!! I dont know my chances here, and its making me nervous. Here is some background information .</p>

<p>out of state as well</p>

<p>HIGH SCHOOL--
-No Class Rank Given
-GPA was around an 86%, we didnt do it on a 4.0 Scale
-SAT was slightly over 1100 (Old Format)
-Average courseload</p>

<p>NOW--
-Drexel University
-Over 60 Credits (mainly due to trimester), equivilant of 1.5 years
-GPA for 3 semesters was 3.41, 3.00, 2.12.
-Reason for the drop was my father became VERY ill and it turned out to be a full time drop. I had to commute to hopsital, commute home to take care of little brother, and to assist my mom when push came to shove. He passed away that semester as well.</p>

<p>BEFORE-
-community college
-Good grades, above a 3.0
-Attended community college while attending drexel 1 semester, and still pulled off a 3.41 GPA</p>

<p>-Submittied 2 esssays. One dealt with life change and how my views, goals / personality changed, second one described why my grades dipped. </p>

<p>so what do you think here? im so nervous its not even funny.</p>

<p>i think your gpa/ SAT score is your weakest…
i know that 50% of U pitt students have about 580 and over for each WR, CR…</p>

<p>Not sure with transfers. Can you explore taking classes through Pitt’s College of General Studies? You might want to set up a meeting with someone in there if you don’t get in with a regular transfer and see what it might mean as far as getting in through a non-traditional method, especially with your story. I really have no idea; just talking.</p>
